EP Stream: Hotel Fiction “Enjoy Your Stay” + Video: Hotel Fiction “I’m A Monster”

Athens, Georgia’s Hotel Fiction invite everyone into the warmth of their second EP Enjoy Your Stay. Interlaced with traces of nostalgia, but primarily focused on the here and now, the six-track offering sees the duo reaching a new point of sonic maturation – Stream.

On the release, the duo said, “Enjoy Your Stay is a project about following your heart and living in the moment. It encompasses the range of emotions that we as early 20’s adults have navigated over the last few years. Feeling stuck, feeling paralyzed, falling in and out of love, learning to love yourself, and appreciating the deep friendships around us.”

Opening with an ode to their home, “Athens GA” sets the glistening tone for the project. Moving into familiar singles like “Man on the Moon,” Hotel Fiction shows off their propensity for painting luminous soundscapes for heavier topics to live within. The third track “Allure” builds and builds into a moment of uninhibited release; an act of musical experimentation for the group. “I Like You Around” and “Monster,” two other singles of the EP, lead us into closing track “Instead of us.” A sweet and mournful track that opens with a nostalgic church organ, unfolds into a full display of emotional and vocal range.

Prior to the release of Enjoy Your Stay the band released singles “Monster,” “Man on the Moon” and “I Like You Around.” These releases received praise from the likes of Consequence of Sound, Ones to Watch and Early Rising, and were featured on Spotify’s New Noise and Fresh Finds Rock editorial playlists. Hotel Fiction also released an official music video for “Monster” that they co-directed alongside Stephen Payne.
