Exclusive: Fatboi Talks Working w/ Gucci Mane on “Wasted”, “Vette Pass By” & More

We’re very excited to release the second part of our new “Off The Porch” interview with producer Fatboi. In this exclusive clip, he talks about making the beat for “Vette Pass By” in the studio with Gucci Mane on the first day that they met and that led to them working very closely together from 2007 – 2011. He explains how he would always make the beats on the spot when in the studio with Gucci, talks about some of their favorite records together, speaks on their current relationship & explains why he isn’t surprised by the positive changes that Guwop has made. He then talks about being interviewed along with Zaytoven, Drumma Boy & Shawty Redd by the New York Times and how he didn’t really know that trap music would be so big today. He then goes into detail about Gucci’s huge single “Wasted” and reveals that Twista was on the record at first but was replaced once Plies verse came in. He says he knew the song was going to be hit when it was completed but the label & Gucci weren’t sold on it all the way which led to him leaking the song online and the record got picked up as the lead single to Gucci’s album. He also talks about how Plies verse almost got cut as well and much, much more! Stay tuned for parts 3 + 4 and the link to watch part 1 is here.
