Washington, DC’s YungMaaly is making his debut in our pages today with his new project Straight Out Da South that is a collection of eighteen songs from an artist pushing hard in his city at a high rate of consistency and is earning new fans day after day because of it. His sound is similar to a lot of the other artists in this area, at least as far as beat selection is concerned and it is clear that Maaly pays much more attention to his lyrics than many of his District competitors. He had features from SSG Splurge, who sounds great on DMV production as I imagined, as well as Slimesito who has been showing a ton of love to the DMV since getting out of jail. Keep an eye on YungMaaly going forwards and I am really excited to hear what all he can do next.
