New Music Monday | BROCKHAMPTON, Phony Ppl, Smino, North Ave Jax and Ethika Music

new music week 36

Here’s this weeks’ rundown of new music from some of your favorite artists in the game.

BROCKHAMPTON – Big Pussy

BROCKHAMPTON shares their genre-fluid new single “Big Pussy” ahead of the group’s seventh studio album, The Family. In what’s being advertised as their final act before an indefinite hiatus, the Texas-bred collective delivers a complementary visual that harnesses the unpredictability of what makes the band truly one-of-a-kind.

Phony Ppl – dialtone

Phony Ppl mix rap sensibilities into their alt-funk world with “dialtone.” The five-person group reveals an eye-catching visualizer to accompany their new single, giving fans an animated preview (created by the band’s bass player, Bari) of their forthcoming album Euphonyus – due Nov. 18 via 300 Entertainment.

Smino – 90 Proof (feat. J. Cole)

Smino taps J.Cole for a screen-ready visual that takes a dark turn with “90 Proof,” which arrives on the heels of his critically-acclaimed third studio album Luv 4 Rent. Directed by filmmaker Phillip Youmans, the video finds the St. Louis rapper going about his day in a routine fashion before he’s confronted by a deranged ex-girlfriend and more problems.

North Ave Jax – Eastside (Remix) [feat. Lil Tjay]

North Ave Jax recruits Lil Tjay for a reworked version of his fan favorite track “Eastside.” In the video, Jax and Tjay trade bars over a guitar-laden instrumental as they reflect on their journey to stardom. The remix comes paired with four new tracks for the deluxe release of Jax’s debut album LaZy, but I have goals (Banned From Vermont).

Ethika Music – Ethikamusic, Vol. 1

Ethika Music reaffirms their knack for sourcing next-level talent with Ethika Music: Volume 1. This 10-track mixtape is the culmination of years of writing, recording and collaborating that serves as a true calling card for artists that are reshaping the music industry.
