“Off The Porch” w/ Machie

Pain music has quickly risen to be one of the top sub-genres with Southern rap. So many artists are now rapping about their personal past experiences of loss & struggle to help themselves as well as their listeners get through tough times. One of those rappers is Memphis native Machie who recently stopped by the DGB offices for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview. During our discussion, he talked about life in North Memphis, wanting to relocate to L.A. once he is done with probation, his mother, grandmother & close cousin all passing away within a few months of each other when he was just 15 years old, having a near-death experience, putting all of his pain into his music, wanting to help others get through their pain with his music, being influenced by Rich Homie Quan & YFN Lucci, his debut project “More To Gain”, knowing BlocBoy JB before the music, the New Memphis movement, being signed to the indy label DTR, goals for 2020 & much more!
