Stream: Guapdad4000 & LaRussell “Fuck 12 Freestyle”

The Bay Area is coming out swinging with Guapdad4000 and LaRussell’s  “F*CK 12” FREESTYLE. It’s been a minute since I heard a good f*ck the system track, and this definitely hits the spot. From misappropriated budgets, to gentrification and FOX News, the rappers hold no punches as they vent their frustrations and call out the systems in place that oppress Black people over an ominous piano driven beat. With its signature Bay Area bop, the track makes you nod your head and turn up the speakers, while prompting you to think about the important message being delivered. This is the first single from the upcoming album Tales Of The Town. The record is an accompaniment to a podcast that shares the name and explores the history and culture of Black Oakland through the eyes and ears of its inhabitants. Each episode focuses on different specific topics and will be released on a weekly basis for 12 weeks.

Created by community organizers Abbas Muntaqim and Delency Parham, this multimedia project and its importance has touched the hearts of all the Bay Area artists that are featured on the upcoming album, including G-Eazy, 22nd Jim, ALLBLACK and Rexx Life Raj, and prompted them to donate their verses for free with all proceeds being funneled back into People’s Programs. If that doesn’t speak to the power of the community in Oakland, I don’t know what does!
