What would have been a better opening line for Houston heavyweight Beatking’s newest mixtape Astro World 2? The answer: nothing. Beatking has been reppin Houston his entire career and after listening to his latest release, it seems that nothing is going to change any time soon.
After the January release of collaborative mixtape with Nephew Texas Boy, Texlanta 2, Houston rapper Beatking has been gearing up for the release of his newest project. Following multiple singles and tweets about the project, Astro World 2 is finally here. In the last two months Beatking released both Sponsor, the anti gold digger anthem produced by TM88, and the ratchet strip club banger Ratchet and Savage produced by GTMusick; the Eardrummer Records producer who has been emerging as many major Texas artists’ go to beat maker.
Astro World 2 features appearances from: Maxo Kream, Sauce Walka, Gangsta Boo, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Charlie Boy, Killa Kyleon, and Blac Youngsta. The production is handled by: Willafool, TM88, June James, GTMusick, Stunt N Dosier, Mr. Lee, DJ Skywlkr, and Beatking himself. This mixtape is….Houston as fuck, for a lack of better words. From the streets to the strip clubs, this is a tape that you can expect to hear all over the city.
