If anyone knows a thing or two about a TikTok trend, it’s Jaah SLT. Similar to his breakout hit “Tuff,” Jaah’s 2019 single “In My Bag” is currently having a resurgence, buoyed by a TikTok dance trend soundtracked by a slowed version of the song’s audio, which generated over 170k video creations in a matter of weeks. Now, Jaah has teamed up with Houston native BeatKing for a Texas-friend “In My Bag” remix (just in time for the summer!!)
“In My Bag” has been particularly popular in Texas, the birthplace of chopped-n-screwed music. The new remix finds BeatKing doing what he does best, keeping Jaah’s charismatic, hard-hitting verses and adding elements like boosted bass and crisp handclaps that turn the track into a club banger. “In My Bag” was the second TikTok hit for the North Carolina native, following 2019’s “Tuff” which generated over 250k video creations on the platform and over 23 million streams on Spotify.
“In My Bag” (Remix) is Jaah’s first release since he dropped “2021 Banger,” a free associative smack talker that continues the intense and charismatic sound the Alamo Records signee fine-tuned throughout 2020. This past fall, Jaah shared 9-25-20, a 10-track project. Alternating lurching monster-movie instrumentals and hypnotic vibe-setters, 9-25-20 finds the 20-year-old rapper showing off his athletic rhymes, stacking boasts together in sing-song cadences as he slices through any beat that he encounters. The project featured appearances from Young Nudy and SLT crewmembers Sleep Walkin SLT, Nsikan SLT, and Loweye SLT.
