Stream: Morray “Ticket”

Morray just dropped his new single “Ticket” – available everywhere via Pick Six Records / Interscope (stream here). The North Carolina native got back in the studio with Southside for this slow jam street anthem. Morray lays his signature tenor over drippy guitar lines and sharp 808s as he recounts his mentality before his rap come-up – singing on the hook, “I’ve been trapping in the streets / Time for me to change up.” One of my favorite things about Morray’s music is how his vocal transitions from melodic singing to quickfire raps further inform the emotions in the song. There’s a moment in the second verse of “Ticket” that does this so seamlessly that I found myself smiling thinking about what an expert artist and performer he is. Maybe I sound corny, but music is meant to be felt! Last time you heard from Morray, he was delivering a poppy, soulful tune celebrating his momma with “Momma’s Love.”
