LISTEN TO SY ARI DA KID’S NEW ALBUM THE SHADOW IN THE SHADE HERE

Bronx-bred rapper/singer Sy Ari The Kid and Yonkers hip-hop icon Jadakiss team up for the music video “Unbreakable Promises” from Sy Ari Da Kid’s latest album The Shadow In The Shade. Directed by Major League Films, the two MCs celebrate their success while shedding light on the hurdles they faced along the way over a soothing soulful-sampled track courtesy of Vtng Jag. Sy Ari Da Kid met up with Jadakiss in Virginia to shoot the music video the same weekend the LOX filmed their acclaimed Verzuz battle with Dipset.

“We filmed the video in Virginia where Lox and Dipset did a concert right before their Verzuz,” explains Sy Ari Da Kid. “It was like witnessing history before it happened because I knew what was coming in that battle. Working with Jadakiss was legendary for my legacy, especially how everything came together organically. I really enjoyed the creative process on this one from beginning to end.”

The Shadow In The Shade was chosen on New Music Friday select playlists by XXL, Brooklyn Vegan, and Essence. The project features an all-star line-up of guests that includes Jadakiss, T.I.. Benny The Butcher, Big K.R.I.T., Trouble, Lloyd Banks, Ransom, Mickey Factz, Cyhi The Prynce, Shawn Ellery, JR Writer, Raekwon, and Bumpy Knuckles. Producers include Vntg Jag, Natra Average, and Royce da 5’9”.
