Throwback Thursday is a trend among social media sites such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook wherein users post or repost older photographs (often from their childhood) with the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday or #TBT. Sports Illustrated attributes the origin of the trend to a sneaker-specific blog named Nice Kicks. According to SI, this blog began a weekly practice of posting photos of old basketball footwear in 2006, titling the series “Throwback Thursday”. The practice has since evolved, now pictures are used to show old thoughts, ideas, vacations, outfits et cetera.

Always one to do it big, Taj aka “Designer Gawd” always does it big. Not content to just share an old picture, last Thursday he decided to release a whole project to observe the nascent social media phenomenon. Featuring some of his early work with Dipset, singles, mixtape cuts, and a few personal favorites, #TBT was curated by Drank and Dank & mixed by The Prodeuser.
