Video: Set Da Trend.“2 Slimed Out” ft. Fr33Bandit

South Bronx rapper Set Da Trend releases a visual for his new single “2 Slimed Out” featuring Fr33Bandit.

Produced by NYC’s self-proclaimed “Sample God” Cash Cobain, “2 Slimed Out” is the perfect track to get sturdy to. Gliding on a southern classic with breathy delivery, Set & FR33Bandit come through with tough-talk directed at their haters and undeniable NY swagger, as Set emphasizes that the ladies love him because he’s different from the rest: “She like how I maneuver, she like ‘I never been with an ooter’/Hop in the Benz, I ain’t taking no uber/All my opps bums, and y’all broke and some losers.” Turning a detention session into a party, both NY natives remind you that they’re students of the rap game who are sure to disrupt the drill scene with their unshakeable flows.

Despite only releasing a small number of songs in his two year career, Set built a cult-like following with his hard-hitting, “in your face” verses on bangers such as Kay Flock-assisted track Whisper and C Blu’s “No Ozone” (2.7M YT views).  What I love most about Set his ability to toggle between braggadocious savagery and unfiltered emotions, a skill that shines best on “Nevada” and the Faith Evans-sampling “Get Home,” boasting over 664K YT views since its late-April release. He’s ramping up to release new music, culminating in an EP to come in the summer via RECORDS/Columbia. I’d love to get your initial thoughts on Set Da Trend – if “2 Slimed Out” is any indication of his potential, brace yourself for an epic season known as ‘Setty Summer.’
