We recently sat down with Wayno for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he discussed moving around a lot while growing up, dropping out of the 9th grade, hanging around the wrong crowd, surviving his tough environment, his interest in shoes & gaming, getting into the music business at the age of 17, getting fired from Def Jam, working temporarily at a sneaker store, landing an internship with Roc-A-Fella Records after leaving his sneaker job, the current state of internships right now, getting appointed A&R at Roc-A-Fella, going right back to square one after Roc-A-Fella broke up, his friend John encouraging him to step back into music and the creative after taking a step back, transitioning into hosting shows at SOBs, managing Dave East, balancing his career while still living in the projects, Nas giving him and Dave East their flowers, his journey on the show Everyday Struggle, his current role at Quality Control and more!
