As he prepares to release his Blame the Feds project, Hollywood Mickey decided to keep heating up before the summer with the release of “I Just Wanna Know.'” The Bad Newz, Virginia emcee is getting impatient, and he asks just exactly what he needs to do to obtain his just due over a smooth instrumental. Make sure you listen carefully, Mickey is deceptively lyrical. Blame the Feds will feature production from Zaytoven, Metro Boomin, Will A Fool, 808 Mafia, Timmy the Hitman, & more.
For those more interested in Hollywood Mickey’s background, in addition to being an artist, he’s a part owner of the burgeoning independent label, Traphouse Digital. Since he often reveals the harsh realities of the drug wars, he considers his music to be “anti-trap” in that he doesn’t just glorify the more glamorous sides of narcotics distribution. He makes sure to include the flip side of incarceration, death, guilt, & pain. He’s certainly speaking from a place of knowledge. After a multi-agency investigation, Mickey was forced to accept a plea deal that resulted in him serving 36-months in federal prison after being arrested and charged with possession w/ intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. Since his release he’s attacked music passionately, with the hopes he can inspire others to avoid making the same mistakes as him.
