The legend himself, Mac Phipps just released a freestyle on Instagram. The “Son of the City” freestyle is only a sign of the great things to come from Mac’s highly anticipated album that is set to be released soon. The freestyle is being well-received by Phipps’ fans and critics as proof that the Southern lyricist has not lost his touch after being locked up for over two decades.
The former No Limit rapper served 21 years of a 30-year sentence for the shooting death of a young fan at a small concert in Slidell, Louisiana. Phipps has maintained his innocence in the crime and was released in June 2021 after being granted clemency.
