We recently sat down with Detroit artist NASAAN for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he talked about being born in Detroit, moving to Florida when he was 7 years old when his dad Big Proof passed, then moving to the Southside of Atlanta when he was 10, his transition coming to Atlanta & losing his dad, researching who his dad when he was 13, not wanting to be a rapper at first, reveals artists he grew up listening to, dropping his first song while in the 9th grade, explains how he was discovered by Paul Rosenberg, signing to Def Jam, reveals his experience being signed there, lessons he learned while being signed, getting dropped, starting to shoot his own music videos, getting signed to Atlantic Records, being a big fan of Bankroll Fresh, recalls his first time meeting Royce Da 5’9”, locking in with Royce who is now like a mentor for him, recording his new single “Goated” in 2021, the song being played on ESPN during the NBA Playoffs, explains the concept for the music video, feeling like his dad is being very proud of him right now, the backlash for his new music video “Devil To Atlanta”, his upcoming project ‘Error 404’, producing most of his own songs, working with Big Sean, hints at upcoming music with Eminem, short term & long term goals, and much more!
