We recently sat down with Florida rapper Big Val for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation she discussed attending college at FSU, majoring in Criminal Justice, the violence in Jacksonville, Florida, losing her brother in November to gun violence, starting a label in remembrance of her brother, growing up as the only girl with 6 brothers, going a different route as a women in rap, working over 20 jobs, being taught to be her own boss, rapping since 6 year old, starting off writing poetry, growing up on Bone Thugs N’ Harmony, her music being therapeutic, fighting the pressures of society as a woman in rap, having a big male fanbase, her upcoming mixtape “Bossed Up”, getting support within her city, goals for 2022 as an artist and much more!
