Off The Porch Interview: Cali Kilo Speaks On Fight w/ Bali Baby, Baton Rouge Music “Everyone wants to Sound Like Youngboy”

We recently sat down with Baton Rouge artist Cali Kilo for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation she discussed not having as much of a support system in her hometown, growing up in Baton Rouge, the Sherwood neighborhood being a tough place to grow up at, having a hard time grieving losing close ones at a young age, fending for herself at 15, starting her career with videography, shooting parodies and funny videos before filming rappers, shooting for Fredo Bang in high school, discovering her passion after making dance videos on YouTube, learning that people are not your friends, jumping into making music at the age of 6, music influences including Missy Elliot, Timbaland, Gwen Stefani, the rap game being heavily influenced by Social Media and not original, learning to put herself and her career first, the transition of Baton Rouge’s current music scene, her experience working with Rico Nasty, altercation with Bali Baby after the “Play Girl” tour, Bali Baby making a diss song after their rolling loud altercation, her upcoming single “Beat It Up” single with Erica Banks coming out soon, and more!
