Since its commencement, TOTX has been hard at work developing their specific brand of alternative hip-hop. The trio has released several notable, critically acclaimed, self-produced projects. They’ve been championed by the likes of The Fader, Noisey, Complex, SPIN, and numerous other leading musical tastemakers. As 2016 continues, their already impressive fan base has swelled in numbers to a full-fledged movement.
The release of Green Lights (Everythang Goin) finds The Outfit in top form. Their cohesiveness as a group runs way deeper than trading verses over instrumentals. Their’s definitely musicianship going on there. Instead of being a collection of solo artists, they use group dynamics to push their music over the top.
On Green Lights, the majority of the production is handled by Stunt N Dozier. The rising duo blessed TOTX with some crazy production on this one. The guest appearances are sparse but pack a punch, especially a pair from Trap Mama. The project is a fresh take on the classic Texas sound; this is definitely something to ride to. Overall the release bodes well for the superstar aspirations of the trio. With quality music like this, it will probably be sooner rather than later.
