As far as NYC street music this is as good as it gets. This is what cats are talking about when they say they miss the nineties. Not no copycat shit, it’s about the feeling. The nineties was a time of desperation for a lot of us from impoverished and/or impoverished backgrounds. That caused a hunger that shown through into the music. Conway and Westside Gunn capture that perfectly, they sound like if rap doesn’t work out for them society better watch out.
Prodigy and the Alchemist make contributions, but the bar heavy duo of Gunn & Conway are definitely the stars on this one. Make sure you check this out, I can assure you that you’ll be hearing more from Conway & Westside Gunn.
