We recently sat down with buzzing Florida artist Woodboy Gee for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he talked about traveling around to different cities promoting himself & his music, the way of life in St. Petersburg, reveals that being focused is the key to making it out of South St. Pete, puts Michael Jordan as his GOAT, jumping off the porch when he was 16 years old, having 3 siblings, playing football in high school, going to college for one semester, having good guidance when he jumped off the porch, not being not he internet when he was in the streets, his mom teaching him not to be the center of attention, reveals somebody broke into his spot & took $70k, starting to take music seriously when he dropped the music video for “Turn My Scale Off”, recording his first project ‘King Hawk’, starting off charging $1k – $1500 for his shows, moving to Tallahassee to go to college but explains why he never ended up going to school up there, Peezy reaching out to him to jump on “I Did”, explains how the song “Pop My Sh*t” with BossMan Dlow was created, his thoughts on the music scene in St. Pete right now, there being a lot of unity amongst the artists in Florida right now, his new project ‘King Hawk 2’, becoming a father for the first time last year, working with Real Boston Richey & Wizz Havinn on “Choose One”, “Bigger Picture” w/ Luh Tyler, being hands on with his music videos, the intro song “Forever Thuggin”, recording “Back to Ballin” right before he turned in his album, connecting with his label Secure The Bag, switching it up on “Social Sites”, reveals that he is dropping a deluxe on May 31st, short term & long term goals, wanting to get into social justice, wanting to get into acting, shares advice for the youth, and much more!
