Memphis rapper Clay “Krucial” Perry III shares the music video for his latest single “Wafi” featuring G Herbo via Drumatized Music Group/Warner Records.
In the visual, Clay raps intensely from various locations including under a haze of smoke at a round table as his crew looks on. He spits fire over a synth-laden soundscape before multiplatinum Chicago drill pioneer Herbo shows up in the studio with a passionate verse. It showcases Clay’s undeniable energy front-and-center as he builds momentum for his new project.
The track sets the stage for the arrival of the anxiously-awaited body of work, Clay, coming July 1st. It also notably boasts “Karma” [feat. Big 30], and “Done Did” [feat. Tay Keith]. Clay is building on the foundations he laid in 2021 with his major-label debut mixtape,If We Must Die, which featured Trippie Redd and Tay Keith. The rapper first came to fame as a revered sound engineer for artists like NBA Youngboy and Rico Nasty. After making the leap from board to the booth, he made a name for himself under the “Krucial” moniker with independent projects and, in 2021, If We Must Die. With flashy, impactful anthems like “Wafi” with G Herbo and his forthcoming Clay project, Clay is only just getting started.
